I am Samo Pastirk, I live and work in Maribor, Slovenia.
I graduated from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Ljubljana in 1993. In 2010, I obtained the title of clinical psychologist at the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana.
My first job was in 1994, when I started working as a graduate psychologist at VDC POLŽ Maribor, where I worked individually and in groups with people with reduced mental abilities and their families. From 1999 to 2013, I was employed at the Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, where I worked in the field of rehabilitation and participated in the development of various domestic and international projects.
Since 2008, due to my special interest in psychotherapeutic work, as an external professional associate I’ve been cooperating with the Private Health Institution – Psychotherapeutic and Psychodiagnostic Center – Maribor. I mainly perform psychotherapeutic and supervisory work
Since 2013, I have been employed at the Maribor Health Center as a clinical psychologist.
In the period from 1996 to 2002, the main area of my therapeutic education was directed towards integrative therapy conducted by the Fritz Perls Institute from Germany.
Since 1996, I have been intensively engaged in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) and in 2009 I became an accredited CBT therapist, and in 2017, a supervisor in the Society for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy of Slovenia.
In 2009, I received the certificate of the European Association for Psychotherapy – European Psychotherapy Certificate as a multimodally oriented therapist (integration of analytical, CBT and integrative psychotherapy).
Since 2018, I have also been intensively involved in Schema therapy . In 2022, I became an advanced level Schema therapist, and in 2024, a Schema therapy supervisor.
