Work experience: From 2013 to 2015, I worked as an expert associate pedagogue at „Miloš Crnjanski“ Elementary School in Belgrade, and from 2016 to 2019 as an expert associate pedagogue at „Čika Jova Zmaj“ Preschool Institution in Belgrade. Alongside my work in educational institutions, from 2014 to 2019, I also worked as a psychotherapist under supervision. Since December 2019, I have been working solely in private practice as a psychotherapist.

Education: I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies in pedagogy in 2012 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. After graduation, I began training to become a RE&CBT psychotherapist in Belgrade, at the Associated Training Center of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, which I completed in February 2019. In 2017, I completed the difference exam in psychology (Psychotherapeutic Propaedeutics) at the Faculty of Media and Communications, Department of Psychology, University Singidunum, in order to obtain the National Psychotherapist Certificate.

I learned about Schema Therapy in 2015. After attending several seminars with Tijana Mirović and reading her book, I realized that Schema Therapy was the approach that suited me the most. In the fall of 2017, I began an accredited education in Schema Therapy at the Center for Schema Therapy in Belgrade and became a Standard-level Schema Psychotherapist in January 2021. In March 2022, I obtained the title of Advanced-level Schema Therapist, and one year later, in April 2023, I became a supervisor for Individual Schema Therapy. Since 2016, I have read many books and materials on Schema Therapy, watched many demonstrations and seminars, and had over 100 hours of supervision with supervisors: Tijana Mirović, Christina Vallianatou, and Patrick Harper. Schema Therapy continues to amaze me, and I use it in my work with all clients because, although it was initially created for clients with more intense difficulties, Schema Therapy benefits everyone.

My approach: As a therapist and supervisor, I strive to maintain warmth, kindness, authenticity, empathy, and well-defined boundaries in all aspects of my professional life, and my goal is to be a supportive and nurturing figure for both my clients and supervisees, allowing them to experience corrective experiences within the therapeutic relationship. In addition, fields of my interests, besides Schema therapy, include working with trauma and complex trauma using approaches of well-known experts such as Babette Rothschild, Janina Fisher, Bessel van der Kolk, Gabor Maté, Stephen Porges, etc.

Certifications: I hold National and European certificates for psychotherapy, as well as National and European certificates for psychological counseling.

Languages: I work in Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, and English, and I also speak French.

I look forward to meeting you and learning together about this wonderful modality. 🙂
